Readers who like a dose of romance in their Intrigue or Suspense books will enjoy my work. So will those who wish to experience the beauty and the terror of Australia’s wilderness.
Raging wildfires and other extreme weather events are detailed from my personal experience as are encounters with our unique wildlife. I write what I know, so the books are set in small, remote communities in Far East Gippsland where we have completed re-vegetation projects for about twelve years. I also run a registered Wildlife Shelter and care for injured and orphaned wildlife until they can be released back into the wild.
Apart from writing what I know, I also write characters I would want to know if they existed. Take a look around and subscribe to my blog posts if you wish to join me on my journey toward publication. I’ll update this site as changes occur so check back sometime.
My working life began in the military and later moved to Administration jobs in Melbourne’s CBD. Marriage and a family coupled with some detours made completing a novel impossible. In 2000, we decided to start a small business in the country and settled on our favourite holiday destination the ‘Naturally magic’ East Gippsland Shire. Plans to produce 50k seedlings annually exploded into 300k by 2005 and capped there because we were planting them all over the enormous region. Funding cutbacks reduced numbers by 70% over the past three years and that coincided with the three older boys leaving home to attend University or build careers in the city and my widowed, disabled mum moved in. Despite this, lockdowns from bushfires and flood events gave me time to write. I joined RWA and attended the 2008 Melbourne conference, became a contest finalist and finally got to finish a book to my satisfaction.
